Psychiatrist - Child and Adolescent – Full-Time

The Timmins and District Hospital (TADH) is seeking a full-time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our innovative, multi-disciplinary referral and teaching hospital in Timmins.


Services can be provided on-site or remotely for the 4-bed dedicated child and adolescent unit at TADH, and the community, including the Northeastern Ontario Child and Family Services. Referrals are accepted from a wide geographic region. As part of the Northeastern Ontario Child and Adolescent Mental Health Regional Program, you and/or your team will have the opportunity to participate in new program development and in team building to continue to develop this program.


There is also an opportunity to teach and mentor medical students and family medicine residents, through affiliation with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.

Position Requirements

Candidates must:

  • have (or be eligible for) Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • be (or eligible to be) licensed to practice as a Psychiatrist in the Province of Ontario
  • have (or be eligible to obtain) Canadian Medical Protective Associate (CMPA) coverage
  • have a commitment to patient safety and high standards of care


Remuneration

Compensation is a combination of Fee-for-Service, a lucrative Northern Specialist Alternate Payment Plan, and a HOCC On-Call stipend. 


Incentives

  • The Timmins and District Hospital provides an incentive package up to $60,000 over four years.
  • Applicants are eligible for a repayable interest-free loan up to $150,000.
  • Applicants can apply for the Ministry of Health Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative (N3R). The N3R Initiative includes an $84,718 incentive over a 4-year period for Canadian citizens and permanent residents who establish a full-time practice in Timmins.

The Timmins and District Hospital is a fully accredited referral and teaching hospital and offers a full range of Medical, Surgical, Critical Care, Maternal/Child, Long Term Care, and Mental Health and Addiction Services.
