The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is seeking locums to fill schedule gaps..


The Timmins and District Hospital is a 225-bed district hospital serving a local population of 41,000 and a catchment area of 110,000. Timmins is located in Northeastern Ontario, and is a fully accredited referral and teaching hospital and offers a full range of Medical, Surgical, Critical Care, Maternal/Child, Long Term Care, and Mental Health Services.


The department has a Level II nursery, with approximately 600 annual deliveries. The hospital also staffs on-call Pediatricians and provides excellent access to diagnostics.


Remuneration consists of a combined stipend of $2,252.80/day as per HFO Guidelines for the Northern Specialist Locum Program.


Your traveling expenses of airfare and/or mileage, local car rental, accommodations, and a travel stipend will be covered


Position Requirements

Candidates must:

  • have Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
  • be licensed to practice as an OB/GYN in the Province of Ontario.
  • have Canadian Medical Protective Associate (CMPA) coverage.
  • have an independent practice license with the CPSO.
  • have an active OHIP billing number.
  • possess excellent clinical skills.
  • have a commitment to patient safety and high standards of care.
