Radiologist– Full-Time or Part-Time

The Timmins and District Hospital (TADH) is seeking a full-time or part-time Radiologist to join our innovative, multi-disciplinary referral and teaching hospital. 


TADH's busy Imaging Department is equipped with a fluoroscopy suite, several ultrasound machines, a 320 slice Canon CT, and a 1.5T Siemens MRI unit.


The department offers some minor non-vascular interventional services, which are assigned along with other diagnostic studies on a rotational basis. TADH radiologists practice in a true consultative manner with the referring physicians and communities. Remote reading from outside of Timmins is not part of our practice.


The Timmins and District Hospital supports approximately 95,000 annual diagnostic exams.


There is also an opportunity to teach and mentor medical students and family medicine residents, through affiliation with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.

Position Requirements

Candidates must:

  • have (or be eligible for) Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada certification in Diagnostic Radiology
  • be (or eligible to be) licensed to practice Diagnostic Radiology in the Province of Ontario
  • have (or to eligible to obtain)Canadian Medical Protective Associate (CMPA) coverage
  • strong interpersonal skills and willingness to converse with clinicians and staff at different sites regarding patient care is essential
  • be certified (or have the willingness to participate and obtain training) for CT colonography and BMD certification will be considered an asset.


Remuneration

Compensation is a combination of Fee-for-Service, a lucrative Northern Specialist Alternate Payment Plan, and a HOCC On-Call stipend. 


Incentives

  • The Timmins and District Hospital provides an incentive package up to $60,000 over four years.
  • Applicants are eligible for a repayable interest-free loan up to $150,000.
  • Applicants can apply for the Ministry of Health Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative (N3R). The N3R Initiative includes an $84,718 incentive over a 4-year period for Canadian citizens and permanent residents who establish a full-time practice in Timmins.
